    Making Headlines

We've started to make a splash in the media, with a feature about an innovative fashion project.

The project saw University of Leeds fashion and design students track down vintage clothing from auction websites. They then found models and created stylish outfits using vintage and modern M&S clothing, referring to archives for design inspiration.

The star of the fashion show was 86 year old Pauline Crystal, Leeds-born model and a former M&S manager. She modelled a stylish outfit featuring a 1970s M&S faux fur coat and a 1960s M&S shift dress. "I am an M&S girl. The clothes are wonderful - I live in them."

The project is a unique collaboration between the University of Leeds Design School and M&S, and an innovative demonstration of the value of archives for design inspiration.

The project featured in the Yorkshire Post and the Daily Mail, generating great publicity for the M&S Company Archive.
