Archive wins Green Impact Bronze Award

The awards celebrate the efforts made by Leeds staff and students to practice and promote sustainability, and to reward the work of teams across the University that took part in the Green Impact programme 2013/14. Green Impact is an environmental accreditation scheme empowering colleagues to take an active role in reducing their environmental impact. The scheme creates teams across campus who work together to put sustainable practices into action. 2013/14 was the second year we took part in Green Impact as part of our partnership with Leeds and we are delighted that the M&S Company Archive has been awarded the Green Impact Bronze Award for the second time. The partnership also sponsored the ‘The M&S University of Leeds Sustainable Partnership Award’ again this year and we were really pleased that the winner was Professor William Young for his work to embed sustainability across the curriculum by leading the way with one of the elective strands called ‘Creating Sustainable Futures’. It is fantastic that we are able to contribute to the work Leeds is doing in the area of sustainability and to build on and complement our own sustainable commitments across Plan A, our environmental and ethical programme.
