We're delighted to have worked with leading charity Business in the Community on their Annual Awards Gala Dinner which took place last week.
As the 2012 Responsible Business of the Year, M&S co-hosted this year's Annual Dinner which gave us the opportunity to showcase our unique partnership with the University of Leeds. Part of our programme of paid industry projects, we worked with Graphics students at Leeds who designed, made and produced a unique recycled bag for the event. A truly sustainable product, these bags have all been made using new technology incorporating wool cuttings from M&S suits. The paper is produced by Weidmann Whiteley Limited in Yorkshire and is typically used for finishing of textiles and papers.
The bags were placed on each table and held dessert as part of the evening meal. They formed part of the unique sharing experience at dinner and were an excellent way to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and our support for new talent of the future. Guests were delighted with how the bags complemented the sharing theme of the meal and provided a fantastic talking point for the evening.
See the bags being made in our short film below - footage also captured by University of Leeds students (produced and edited by Nice & Serious).
