These memories tell a unique story of M&S through the eyes of our customers and employees

My mum looks great in the 50s inspired 125 dress - now I know what she looked like when she was young!

My earliest memory of Marks & Sparks is going shopping with my mum and younger sister to buy new pants, socks and an outfit for Whitsuntide. On Whit Sunday we would dress in our new clothes and parade amongst family.

When I was christened 55 years ago, my godmother bought me a dress from M&S; it is a short sleeved, two layered lemon dress, in its own bag. In a few weeks times MY grandaughter is being christened and will be wearing the dress.

For several years in the 90s I was part of the Nottingham Bluecoat G&S company who sang carols in the Nottingham M&S store to raise money for several different charities. They were happy times. The staff always made us welcome and the customers enjoyed it.

My mum worked at Marks' when I was little, I remember going in on her days off and her colleague taking me over to try the testers of the handcream while mum browsed. I still remember the smells!

In 1986 I started working for M&S as a cleaner, when we had to clean the staircase with a toothbrush. Who would believe that 25 years later and still passionate about working for the business, I am now the Store Manager. My love of M&S came from my sister's weekly visit to buy an Angel & Battenburg cake.
